Pezula Private Estate and Sparrebosch Clifftop Estate are conveniently situated on the outskirts of central Knysna, a bustling lagoon-side community, twice voted South Africa's favourite town.

With its temperate climate and scenic beauty, Knysna offers residents an exceptional lifestyle and every modern amenity and convenience, including easy access to George Airport (just 60 kms away), which has regular daily flights to Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.

Knysna has excellent private schools and many pre-school facilities. Knysna Private Hospital is a member of Life Healthcare, one of the largest private hospital groups in South Africa, and offers specialist emergency and maternity facilities. There are a number of highly regarded medical practitioners and specialists in town. Bay View Private Hospital in Mossel Bay, just 2 hours drive from Knysna, has one of the finest Cardiac Units in the world.

Knysna is steeped in history and the Museum and the Old Gaol describe the fascinating origins of the town's timber and shipbuilding industries, the short-lived Millwood Gold Rush and the story of the Knysna Elephants. The quaint streets of the town reveal many boutiques, gift shops and art galleries, pubs and coffee shops as well as a well-stocked library, a modern cinema, an excellent theatre and many churches.

The opening of the Knysna Mall in the Main Street added Woolworths and other chain-stores to the growing number of shops, and most major supermarkets are represented.

The building boom has attracted architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, interior designers and décor shops. Knysna is becoming known as a gourmet town with a variety of excellent restaurants, many of which are featured in the Dine Awards Top 100 Restaurants.

Knysna is a paradise for nature lovers and those who like the outdoors. The vast estuary, known as the Knysna Lagoon, offers numerous watersports including sailing, canoeing, fishing and skiing. The surrounding indigenous forests have a number of marked trails for hiking and mountain biking. Various adventure sports are on offer including quad biking, abseiling, kite surfing, ballooning and paragliding.

Featherbed on the Western Head is a privately-owned, registered Nature Reserve and a South African Heritage site. Ferries provide regular excursions across the lagoon to the reserve.

Knysna's famous oyster industry is celebrated every year in July with a 10-day sport and lifestyle festival, the Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival. Two other festivals, the Pink Loerie Mardi Gras and the Gastronomica draw thousands of visitors to Knysna annually.

The Garden Route and Western Cape is a golfer's paradise and, apart from the Pezula Championship Course, there are a number of other excellent golf courses in the area.

Knysna Elephant Park, Monkeyland and Birds of Eden are popular animal sanctuaries which provide visitors with the opportunity to get close to Africa's wildlife.

Knysna is also home to a number of rare and endangered species including the Knysna Elephant, the Knysna Seahorse (Hippocampus capensis), the Knysna Turaco (previously known as the Knysna Loerie), the rare Knysna Dwarf Cameleon (Bradypodion damaranum), and the Brenton Blue Butterfly.
